Indus - Indian

The Indian is one of Bayer’s new constellations, south of Microscopius, between Grus and Pavo. It was named for the American Indian and drawn nude with arrows in each hand, but no bow.

The Jesuits called it the Persian. The Jews referred to this constellation as representing the Patriarch, Job.
